This bill amends the New York Executive Law to require the state to provide minimum basic training related to handling emergency situations involving individuals with any physical and/or developmental disability to all firefighters, both paid and volunteer. The training will be developed in coordination with the Commissioner of the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and the Chief Disability Officer, and the state agency will adopt all necessary rules and regulations relating to such training.
