This bill creates an income tax exemption of up to $50,000 for teachers in Arkansas. The exemption applies to individuals who are engaged in student instruction in kindergarten through grade twelve for more than 70% of their contracted or employed time, and who are employed by a public school or open-enrollment charter school in a teaching, instructional, or educational capacity that requires a license. The exemption is effective for tax years beginning on or after January 1, 2023.
