This bill modifies the sparsity factor in the city aid formula in Minnesota. Specifically, it increases the sparsity adjustment from 100 to 200 for cities with a population of 10,000 or more and an average population density less than 150 per square mile, and it maintains the sparsity adjustment of 200 for cities with a population less than 10,000 and an average population density less than 30 per square mile. The changes in the sparsity adjustment are effective for aids payable in calendar year 2024 and thereafter.
