This bill establishes an affordable independent senior housing assistance program that will provide grants to affordable independent senior housing properties to establish and operate resident assistance programs. Resident assistance refers to support offered to residents to promote healthy living and improve quality of life, but it will not include services or assistance that would require the property to be licensed as an adult care facility or assisted living residence. The bill also specifies that 60% of the funding will be allocated to projects in urban areas and 40% to projects in rural areas.
