This bill amends the Equal Pay Law to further define key terms such as "wages" (including fringe benefits and other compensation) and "comparable work" (work that requires substantially similar skill, effort, and responsibility). It also clarifies the factors employers can use to justify wage differentials between employees of different sexes, and allows the Attorney General to bring actions to collect unpaid wages on behalf of employees. The bill also specifies when a violation of the law occurs, for the purposes of the statute of limitations.
