This bill proposes to amend Mississippi's Medicaid eligibility requirements to expand coverage to individuals under 65 years of age who are not entitled to or enrolled in Medicare, and whose income does not exceed 133% of the federal poverty level, as authorized under the federal Affordable Care Act (ACA). The bill would add a new category of eligible individuals under Paragraph (28) of the existing Medicaid statute, and require these newly eligible individuals to receive benchmark or benchmark equivalent coverage as described in the ACA. The bill would take effect on July 1, 2023.
