AI Summary
This bill eliminates the asset test for determining financial eligibility for the Family Independence Program, a social assistance program in Michigan. The Family Independence Program is part of the broader social services system established under the 1939 Michigan Public Act 280, which provides various forms of assistance and services to low-income and vulnerable populations in the state. By removing the asset test, this bill aims to make it easier for individuals and families to qualify for and receive food assistance through the program, without having their eligibility limited by the value of their assets.
