This bill provides for the establishment and funding of a Center for Gun Violence Research at a university selected by the Governor. The bill requires State agencies, district attorneys, local police, and health departments to provide the center with necessary data, and directs the center to submit biennial reports on its activities and research. The bill also authorizes the center to award competitive research grants to nonprofit organizations, with all research belonging to the center and made publicly accessible.
