This bill provides for increases in the minimum hourly rate in New Hampshire. It amends the existing law to set the minimum hourly rate at $13 per hour from September 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024, and then increases it to $15 per hour from July 1, 2024 and thereafter. The bill also includes provisions for tipped employees, requiring employers to pay a base rate of at least 45% of the applicable minimum wage, and requiring employers to pay the difference if an employee's actual wages do not equal the $15 per hour rate. Additionally, the bill includes a contingency provision where the $15 per hour minimum wage would take effect earlier if the federal minimum wage or the New Hampshire minimum wage is increased to $15 per hour.
