This bill amends the compulsory school attendance requirements in Indiana. It changes the age at which a student is bound by these requirements from the beginning of the fall school term in which the student turns 7 years old to the beginning of the fall school term in which the student is 5 years old as of August 1 of that school year. The bill also makes conforming amendments to related definitions in Indiana law, such as the definitions of "eligible choice scholarship student" and "eligible student" under the state's school choice programs.
