This bill expands the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship program to include individuals enrolled in a "transition to teaching" program. It establishes requirements for these applicants to qualify for a one-time scholarship of up to $10,000 to cover the costs of the transition to teaching program and initial practitioner licensure. The bill also specifies that the total annual amount of these scholarships cannot exceed $1 million. Additionally, the bill requires recipients to teach in a public or eligible school in Indiana for at least 5 consecutive years, or else they must repay the scholarship amount. The bill also makes other technical changes to the existing scholarship program.
