AN ACT to amend the private housing finance law, in relation to labor union financed housing

This bill authorizes the city of New York to enter into a cooperative partnership with labor unions representing city employees to finance the construction of affordable housing for the members of those unions. The housing units created under this partnership must be exclusively occupied by city employees, with at least one member of the household being a city employee and the combined household income being less than 125% of the area median income. The leases or rental agreements for these units cannot be extended or renewed if the occupancy and income criteria are no longer met.
