This bill authorizes members of local government legislative bodies in Tennessee to participate in scheduled meetings by electronic means, such as videoconferencing or other web-based media, if they are dealing with a family or medical emergency, have been called into military service, or are unable to attend in person due to inclement weather. The bill sets limits on the number of members who can participate electronically and requires that meetings remain open and accessible to the public with real-time audio or video access and a recording made available afterwards. The bill amends the Tennessee Code Annotated to apply these provisions to county, municipal, and other local government legislative bodies, and it is set to expire on July 1, 2026.
