This bill makes technical corrections to a previous law that authorized the Bellmore Fire District to file an application for exemption from real property taxes. Specifically, it removes references to the "town of Hempstead" and changes the section of the real property tax law from 464 to 410. The bill also clarifies the years and tax rolls the exemption would apply to, including the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 assessment rolls, and allows the Nassau County assessor to grant the exemption if the Fire District would otherwise be entitled to it. The bill takes effect on the same date as the original 2022 law authorizing the exemption.
