This bill requires the Oregon State University Extension Service and College of Agricultural Sciences to conduct a study on the fate and transport of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) found in biosolids applied to agricultural fields in Oregon. The study will identify PFAS concentrations in biosolids, compare them to PFAS levels in the fields where the biosolids are applied, examine the potential for PFAS to leach into groundwater, and assess PFAS uptake in representative crops. The bill appropriates $525,000 to the Higher Education Coordinating Commission for Oregon State University to carry out the study, and the study findings must be submitted to the state legislature's interim agriculture committees by September 15, 2025. The bill's provisions are repealed on January 2, 2026.
