This bill aims to modify Medicaid coverage in Utah. It does two main things: 1) It expands the income eligibility threshold for low-income individuals to receive Medicaid family planning services from 95% to 185% of the federal poverty level. It also extends the deadline for the state to apply for a Medicaid waiver or state plan amendment to offer these family planning services from July 1, 2018 to January 1, 2024. 2) It requires the state to request a Medicaid waiver or state plan amendment to provide continuous Medicaid coverage during the 12-month "extended postpartum period" for women who were eligible for Medicaid during their pregnancy, regardless of whether the pregnancy ended in birth, miscarriage, stillbirth, or a permitted abortion.
