This bill amends Minnesota Statutes to require prevailing wage agreements for construction projects funded in whole or in part with renewable development account funds. The renewable development account is a separate account in the state treasury that receives funds from public utilities that own nuclear power plants in Minnesota. The funds in the account can be used for research and development of renewable energy technologies, grid modernization, and other innovative energy projects. The bill specifies that construction projects receiving funds from this account must pay workers the prevailing wage rate and comply with related requirements and enforcement provisions. This change takes effect the day after final enactment and applies to construction contracts entered into on or after that date.
