This bill prohibits public institutions of higher education in Texas from requiring or including certain instruction as part of a course, such as teaching that one race or sex is inherently superior to another, that individuals are inherently racist or sexist based on their race or sex, or that individuals should be discriminated against due to their race or sex. The bill defines "institution of higher education" as per the Education Code and states that any institution that violates this prohibition will be ineligible to receive state funds. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board is tasked with adopting rules to enforce this provision, which applies starting in the 2023-2024 academic year.
