This act would regulate electric bicycles in the same manner as human-powered bicycles, classify electric bicycles into three (3) classes and require all electric bicycles to have a technical information label affixed to the bicycle. The act also would require that electric bicycles be equipped with a speedometer and would restrict electric bicycles to be capable of a maximum speed of twenty-eight (28) miles per hour. It would also allow the use of electric bicycles on bicycle trails and paths. This act would take effect on January 1, 2024.
