This bill amends the Florida Statutes to provide that sales tax does not apply to the lease or rental of certain motor vehicles used primarily in the trade or established business of the lessee or rentee for a period of not less than 12 months. Specifically, the bill exempts from sales tax the lease or rental of a commercial motor vehicle or a motor vehicle that is to be used primarily in the trade or established business of the lessee or rentee, as long as the sales tax was paid on the purchase price of the vehicle by the lessor. This change is intended to provide tax relief for businesses that lease or rent motor vehicles for their operations.
