This bill amends sections of the Arizona Revised Statutes related to industrial hemp. The key provisions include: 1. Granting the Arizona Department of Agriculture the authority to adopt rules to oversee the licensing, production, management, labeling, and retail sale of hemp-derived products in the state. 6. Providing an affirmative defense against prosecution for the possession or cultivation of marijuana or narcotic drugs if the defendant is a licensee or agent of a licensee in compliance with the law. 7. Exempting the Arizona Department of Agriculture from rulemaking requirements for one year after the effective date of the act.
