This bill amends the Social Services Law to assist persons with medically diagnosed HIV infection. The key provisions are: 1. It removes the requirement for individuals with medically diagnosed HIV infection who apply for or receive public assistance to pay more than 30% of their monthly earned and/or unearned income towards rent, up to 200% of the federal poverty guidelines. 2. It requires social services districts to provide access to emergency shelter, transportation, or nutrition payments for persons living with medically diagnosed HIV infection who are homeless or facing homelessness, including HIV emergency shelter allowance payments up to 110% of fair market rent. 3. It requires social services districts to assist persons with medically diagnosed HIV infection in securing documentation, arranging interviews, and providing referrals and resources. 4. It provides 100% state reimbursement for the HIV emergency shelter allowance payments, transportation, and nutrition payments made by social services districts with a population of 5 million or fewer.
