This bill amends Section 825.4092(f) of the Government Code to allow employers to recover the cost of certain employer contributions for retirees of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) who resume service, but only to the extent that the deduction would not result in the retiree's compensation being less than the minimum salary required by the Education Code. The changes in law made by this bill apply to all TRS retirees, regardless of when they retired, and begin with the 2023-2024 school year. The bill takes effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote of all members elected to each house of the Texas Legislature; otherwise, it takes effect on September 1, 2023.
