This bill amends the New Mexico Works Act to expand the definition of "homelessness" to include a wider range of housing insecure situations for families with dependent children. It also modifies the work requirement exemptions, the financial standard of need, and the sanction procedures for noncompliance with program requirements. Specifically, the bill raises the financial standard of need to at least 50% of the federal poverty guidelines, allows more flexibility in work-related activities, and limits sanctions to only the pro rata share for adult members of a benefit group, while preserving full assistance for the children.
