This bill requires the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to adopt rules for mangrove replanting and restoration. The rules must address significant erosion in areas of critical state concern, protect barrier and spoil islands, assist in Everglades restoration and Biscayne Bay revitalization efforts, promote public awareness of the value of mangroves statewide, and identify vulnerable public and private properties along the coastline to encourage partnerships with local governmental entities to create local mangrove protection and restoration zone programs. The bill aims to improve the management and preservation of Florida's mangrove ecosystems.
