This bill would require the updated regional transportation plan, sustainable communities strategy, and environmental impact report adopted by the Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) on November 18, 2019 to remain in effect until SACOG adopts its next update by December 31, 2025. The bill would require SACOG to report biennially on the regional implementation of its most recently adopted sustainable communities strategy. Additionally, until December 31, 2025, a project located within SACOG's jurisdiction could only be nominated for funding through the Solutions for Congested Corridors Program if the project also satisfies the eligibility requirements of certain other specified programs. The bill is intended to give SACOG additional time to align the timing of its plan update with its interregional partners and to incorporate findings from a federal grant to develop an equity-centered infrastructure project prioritization process.
