This bill amends the General Business Law to establish licensing requirements for laser hair removal technicians. The bill defines the practice of "laser hair removal" and a "laser hair removal technician," and adds laser hair removal to the list of practices that require a license in New York. The bill also expands the Appearance Enhancement Advisory Committee to include a member engaged in the practice of laser hair removal, and directs the Secretary to promulgate rules and regulations for the practice and operation of licensed laser hair removal technicians. Additionally, the bill requires establishments providing laser hair removal to maintain a minimum of $1 million in liability insurance.
