This bill amends the administrative code of the city of New York to grant members of the city's police force eligibility for retirement and pension based on their previous service as traffic enforcement agents. Specifically, the bill allows time served as a traffic enforcement agent who has become a member of the police force, whether by transfer or as a result of a competitive examination and appointment, to be included and counted as service in the police force for the purposes of determining retirement and pension benefits. Additionally, the bill allows police department members to buy back and receive service credit for the period of time they were previously employed as a New York City traffic enforcement agent.
