This bill increases the sale price threshold for food and drink sold in vending machines to be exempt from certain taxation. Specifically, the bill amends the tax law to raise the exemption threshold from $1.50 to $3 for vending machines that accept coin or currency only, and from $2 to $3.50 for vending machines that accept any form of payment other than coin or currency. This change is effective until May 31, 2024.
