This bill amends and repeals existing law to end Medicaid eligibility for certain persons. Specifically, it repeals Section 56-267 of the Idaho Code, which provided Medicaid coverage for individuals with incomes up to 133% of the federal poverty level. Additionally, the bill amends Section 31-3502 of the Idaho Code to make individuals eligible for Medicaid or health insurance ineligible for financial assistance under the county indigent program. The bill also removes provisions that would have allowed certain Medicaid-eligible individuals to receive premium tax credits to purchase health insurance through the state's insurance exchange instead. This bill is intended to promote the health and financial independence of Medicaid participants in Idaho.
