This bill amends the education law to require that each student's health certificate furnished to public schools include a statement indicating whether the student has undergone a heart examination, such as an electrocardiogram, and whether the student is fit to participate in physical education or other physical or athletic activities. The bill also maintains the existing requirements for health certificates, including that they be signed by a licensed physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner and describe the student's health condition and body mass index (BMI).
