This bill amends existing law to provide certain reimbursements related to warranty service. The key provisions include: 1) Requiring manufacturers and distributors to specify in writing to each dealer the dealer's obligations for pre-delivery preparation and warranty service, and provide a schedule of compensation for parts, work, and service. 2) Requiring manufacturers and distributors to pay warranty claims within 30 days of approval. 3) Prohibiting manufacturers and distributors from auditing dealer records for warranty claim compliance more than one year after payment, except in cases of fraud. 4) Establishing a process for dealers to resubmit denied claims due to administrative technicalities. 5) Requiring manufacturers and distributors to reimburse dealers for labor and parts used to satisfy warranties at the dealer's prevailing retail rates. The bill takes effect on July 1, 2023.
