AI Summary

This bill establishes exceptions to certain criminal prohibitions against trespass on property and the civil tort of trespass for professional land surveyors, and their agents and employees, who enter the property of another to practice land surveying. The bill defines "practice land surveying" and "professional land surveyor" for the purposes of the legislation. It specifies that professional land surveyors, or their agents and employees, are not liable under the common law tort of trespass when entering a property to practice land surveying. The bill also clarifies that the new provisions do not affect any other immunities or defenses available to professional land surveyors, and do not impair the right of a person to seek redress under other laws or at common law for actionable conduct by a professional land surveyor. The bill is set to take effect on October 1, 2023.
