This bill amends the Education Code to expand the existing misdemeanor offense for disrupting a school employee's duties. The bill applies the misdemeanor to any adult, not just parents or guardians, and includes disrupting meetings of school governing bodies. It also creates a new misdemeanor for harassing or making credible threats against a school employee while they are away from the school site or after hours, related to their duties. The bill exempts conduct by students with disabilities if it is related to their disability. The bill also provides that no reimbursement is required for the new state-mandated local program created by the bill.
