This bill increases the financial penalties for operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI) and increases the financial penalties and prison term for aggravated vehicular homicide under specified circumstances. Specifically, the bill: - Increases the minimum financial penalty for a first-time OVI offense from $375 to $750. - Increases the minimum financial penalty for a second OVI offense within 10 years from $925 to $1,225. - Increases the minimum financial penalty for a third OVI offense within 10 years from $850 to $1,725. - Increases the mandatory minimum prison term for aggravated vehicular homicide in certain circumstances from 10 years to 15-20 years. - Requires the court to order the installation of an ignition interlock device for certain offenders. - Expands the definition of OVI to include additional controlled substances and metabolites. - Makes other changes to suspension periods, fines, and penalties related to OVI and aggravated vehicular homicide offenses.
