This bill requires the placement of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in each public and chartered nonpublic school, as well as each public recreational facility. It also requires staff at these locations to be trained in the use of AEDs, and for the Ohio Department of Health to develop a model emergency action plan for AED use. The bill amends various sections of the Ohio Revised Code to implement these requirements, including sections on community schools, STEM schools, and youth sports organizations. It also provides liability protections for those using AEDs in good faith.
