This bill amends the Georgia law relating to funeral directors and embalmers. It removes the requirement for licensed funeral directors to also have a valid embalmer's license. The bill also revises the qualifications for obtaining a funeral director's license, including the requirement to furnish an affidavit listing the names of at least 50 funerals at which the applicant assisted as an apprentice. Additionally, the bill modifies the reciprocity provisions for obtaining a funeral director's license in Georgia, including the option to demonstrate three years of active practice as a licensed funeral director or embalmer in another state.
