This bill expands the Rhode Island Promise Scholarship program to allow eligible students to use the scholarship funds at most public or private institutions of postsecondary education in Rhode Island, rather than just the Community College of Rhode Island. The bill also makes several other changes, such as defining "higher education facility," expanding the definition of "on track to graduate on time," and requiring the completion of a uniform Rhode Island Promise Scholarship application. The bill will take effect on January 1, 2024.
