This bill amends and adds to existing law to require that, prior to receiving a health care service from a district health department, a person must first review and sign a risk/benefit fact sheet. The bill also provides for the adoption of these risk/benefit fact sheets by the board of trustees of the Idaho district boards of health through administrative rule. The fact sheets must include details about the service, its potential benefits and risks, and whether it involves any unapproved, novel, or experimental medical products or procedures. The bill also establishes a process for district boards to review and potentially dissent from the proposed fact sheets, and requires the board of trustees to collaborate with the public health districts and state health department in developing the fact sheets.
