This bill, the Sexually Violent Predator Accountability, Fairness, and Enforcement Act, amends existing law regarding the civil commitment and conditional release of sexually violent predators. Key provisions include: prohibiting the placement of a conditionally released sexually violent predator within 5 miles of federal land; requiring the State Department of State Hospitals to notify the county's executive officer of the proposed placement location, prepare an annual report on the number and location of sexually violent predators under department supervision, and approve potential placements before a lease or rental agreement is signed; and requiring the State Department of State Hospitals, the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection to report to the Governor and Legislature on the availability of suitable placement quarters for sexually violent predators.
