This bill, if enacted, would require each school district, county office of education, and charter school in California to equip each classroom at each of its school sites with a "trauma kit" starting in the 2024-25 school year. The trauma kits must be inspected and replenished as necessary upon each use and at least once every three years. The schools must also notify their employees at least once per school year about the location of the trauma kits and provide them with contact information for training on the use of the kits. The bill would exempt from civil liability any person who, in good faith and not for compensation, renders emergency care or treatment using the trauma kits. The implementation of this bill is contingent upon an appropriation for its purposes.
