This bill expands an existing crime to apply to firearms brought into the state with the intent to transfer them to a minor or evade firearm transfer requirements. It also allows certain illegal firearms transactions involving centerfire semiautomatic rifles to be prosecuted as felonies, similar to the existing provisions for handguns. The bill does not require the state to reimburse local agencies for any costs associated with the new crimes created or changes to existing crimes.
