This bill amends several sections of the Montana Code Annotated to remove the requirement for notarization of affidavits and bills of sale related to the transfer of vehicle ownership and the issuance of vehicle certificates of title. Specifically, the bill eliminates the need for notarization of affidavits and bills of sale when applying for a certificate of title for a camper, motorboat, personal watercraft, sailboat, or snowmobile, and for the voluntary transfer of ownership of a motor vehicle, trailer, semitrailer, pole trailer, camper, motorboat, personal watercraft, sailboat, or snowmobile. The bill also grants the Department of Justice the authority to adopt rules governing affidavits and bonds for certificates of title without requiring notarization.
