This bill amends existing law to remove a provision regarding "sunrise review" and revise provisions regarding "sunset review." The "sunrise review" process previously required the Occupational and Professional Licensure Review Committee to conduct reviews of requests for new occupational licensing requirements for two years, ending in 2023. The bill removes this sunset provision, making the sunrise review process permanent. The bill also revises the "sunset review" process, which requires the committee to review existing occupational licensing authorities on a rotating basis, reducing the review cycle from every 5 years to every 10 years. Additionally, the bill requires the licensing authorities under review to submit information to the committee to facilitate its evaluation. The bill takes effect on July 1, 2023.
