This bill requires a contractor on a public work to provide workers with written or electronic notice of the prevailing wage rates for the project, the contractor's name, and the physical address of their principal place of business. It also requires the contractor to obtain a written or electronic acknowledgment of receipt of this notice, which must be maintained for at least 2 years and made available to the Labor Commissioner upon request. Additionally, the bill removes the exception that allows the Labor Commissioner to not assess damages against a person found to have willfully and repeatedly failed to pay the prevailing wage, and instead requires the payment of damages to each affected worker in an amount equal to the difference between the prevailing wage and the actual wages paid.
