This bill directs the Commissioner of Corrections and Community Supervision, in consultation with the Commissioner of Health and the Commissioner of Mental Health, to develop a uniform electronic medical records system to be utilized by all correctional facilities in the state. The bill also authorizes the Commissioner to promulgate rules and regulations necessary for the implementation of this new system. The bill will take effect 180 days after it becomes law, and the necessary rules and regulations can be made and completed on or before the effective date.
