This bill amends the executive law to require the development and implementation of a training course and curriculum for law enforcement officers and judicial employees on handling, investigating, and responding to reports of domestic violence. The training will cover the impact of domestic violence, relevant laws, protection order procedures, and available community resources and treatment options. The Attorney General and Chief Administrator of the Courts are responsible for ensuring that all law enforcement and judicial personnel, respectively, complete the initial and annual in-service training as outlined in the bill.
