This bill amends Florida Statutes to provide procedures for the Department of Transportation to issue temporary airport licenses or registrations. The key provisions include: (1) the Department may license a public airport or register a private airport as a temporary airport if it does not endanger public health, safety, or welfare and meets the temporary airport requirements; (2) temporary licenses or registrations are valid for less than 30 days and are not renewable; (3) the Department must conduct a review and audit, if necessary, of the information submitted by temporary airport applicants and registrants; (4) the Department is not required to physically inspect the site for temporary airport approvals; and (5) the Department may issue temporary airport site approval orders without public review and comment. The bill takes effect on July 1, 2023.
