This bill amends the administrative code of the City of New York to grant members of the city's police force eligibility for retirement and pension based on their previous service as traffic enforcement agents. Specifically, the bill allows the time served as a traffic enforcement agent to be counted as service in the police force for the purposes of determining retirement and pension, provided the member pays into the police pension fund the total sum they would have been required to pay had they been a member of the force since they entered the traffic enforcement service. The bill also allows police department members to buy back and receive service credit for the time they were previously employed as a traffic enforcement agent.
