This bill requires entities that offer Medicare supplement benefit plans to individuals aged 65 or older to also offer the same coverage to individuals younger than 65 who are eligible for and enrolled in Medicare due to disability or end-stage renal disease. The bill specifies that the benefits, protections, policies, and procedures applicable to coverage for those 65 and older must also apply to the coverage offered to those younger than 65. Additionally, the entities must offer the plan to the younger individuals at the same premium rate charged to those 65 and older. The changes made by this bill apply to Medicare supplement benefit plans delivered, issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2024, and the bill takes effect on September 1, 2023.
